I am and will always be New Yorker. A person doesn't spend her whole life living somewhere and then abandon it when she moves. So 9/11 has particular importance to me - the terrorists attacked my city. The place of my birth, the place I grew up, married, worked, lived. I feel the pain of other cities that were attacked, and the pain of a country that others sought to destroy and used human beings as unwilling ammunition.
But 9/11 is not about people bent on destruction, it is focused on the pain of a country, and the healing that continues to take place. On the people who died in the attacks and on acknowledging the 10th anniversary as a memorial.
In Albuquerque, there's a place that focuses on reducing intolerance and hatred and fostering understanding and acceptance. For 9/11 the (located at 616 Central Avenue SW
Albuquerque - open Tuesday through Saturday) announced they had been given a special 9/11 memorial flag
Fahne.
Created by it lists on its stripes the names of those who died on September 11, 2001. It is now on display. The flag was donated to the Museum by Rudi Florian, a former docent who recently moved to Colorado.
In addition, we need to remember those that converged on ground zero to try to help survivors, those who contracted illnesses as a result of exposure to hazardous substances, were killed in rescue attempts. There is a Flag of Heroes for them as well with the name, rank, and affiliation of the first responders lost on 9/11 including FDNY, PAPD, NYPD, EMS, and Court Officers.
Flagge Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

Channel this heightened enthusiasm into the of your organization's goals - whether sales, marketing, , etc
Kompaniefahne. Use it, too, to stimulate a greater sense of patriotism and pride in being an American.
Make your day-to-day office activities and meetings more effective by tying them in with special events, occasions, holidays or seasons. Keep your eye on the calendar and the news media to see what's coming up. The uniqueness and popularity of the 2004 Summer Olympic Games should spark ideas to take advantage of opportunities which already generate interest, excitement and publicity. Use your and incorporate your own good ideas and activities, too - as well as those of your people.
Gemeindefahne In planning your overall Olympic Games campaign, give a lot of thought to developing meaningful activities which you can incorporate these characteristics into - traits which serve you well in both the office and the environment. For example:
* Knowledge, desire, training
* Speed, agility
* Desire, mental , focus.
Come up with a catchy theme or two that's customized to your company, its products/services, corporate culture, mission and goals - and use them on banners, posters, T-shirts, etc. Some ideas:
* Catch The Olympic Spirit!
* [Product Name] Sales Olympics!
* Olympic Sales Blitz!
Relate your activities to sporting events. Hold Olympic-style competition among your team members, tying in your products/services to events such as:
* Track and field (jumping, throwing, sprinting, relays, marathon, etc.) - "We Raise The Bar on Quality!" or "Dash to Excellence!"
* Aquatic (swimming, diving, water polo, rowing) - "Make a Big Splash."
* Team (basketball, soccer, softball) - "There's no 'I' in 'Team'"
* Boxing - "K.O. The Competition!"
* Archery - "Focus hits the target every time."
Decorate your office with red, white and blue Americana images. Decorate your work area with Olympic icons such as Olympic torch, Olympic rings, posters of athletes, balloons, streamers, etc. Create your own, using poster board, Kraft paper and large-tip markers.
Raise the Flag. Hoist the American flag every time someone in your group records a special sale or does something noteworthy. If appropriate, ring a bell or signify through some other means.
Keep Score.
Flagge Put on your thinking cap and come up with ways to use Olympic events as a way to -keep score- as you head toward your goals. For example, create a Marathon map on a poster board indicating each of 26 miles (the marathon race is actually 26 miles 385 yards). Every time someone sells X-product or does X-activity, mark it in color on the map, etc.

As a child I recited the Pledge Of Allegiance every day in class. I sang The Star Spangled Banner in assemblies. I knew all the words to God Bless America.
Werbefahne Since the beginning of the current Flag Pin trend, which started during the first Gulf war, by the way, and picked up again after September 11, I purchased and lost more FlagPins then I care to think about, for those of you who must know.
That being said, I have a few questions to ask as the Presidential race heats up and flag pins move in an out of the controversial spotlight. Answer and please be honest. There are cameras on every corner, in most businesses and maybe in your own home. is watching, so we'll know if you're lying.
Does everybody have their hand in the air Of course you do. All of you wear your flag pins all the time. But what about those who don't, your next door neighbor, the guy in your office, the soccer mom, all of those busy people who don't have time to coordinate a flag wardrobe each day How do we measure their patriotism
Rollup.
Do we make singing the standard, knowing all the words to a patriotic song. What about saying the pledge every day. Or should we set imported Flag Pins as our American Patriotism standard (Check the back of your own Flag Pin. Odds are it was manufactured in China most likely) If we do make imported an accurate measure of Patriotism, who stands to gain besides importers who make big bucks pushing flag pins.
Perhaps it's because I read a lot as a child, that I learned from Dr. Seuss's Grinch. Remember when he tried to steal Christmas by taking the food, and gifts. The people sang anyway because you couldn't buy Christmas from a store. It was in their hearts.
That's what I know to be true about Patriotism. It's not a song or a pledge or a Flag Pin you buy in a store. Patriotism is what's in our hearts, like Christmas. Patriotism is in the things we do for our country, the things we do to make our country a great place to live.
Patriotism is not a Flag Pin and you have to wonder who it is and what they have to gain by trying to convince us otherwise.

A patriotic theme party is not just for the 4th of July, but for stressful political campaigns, as well. Yet when the planning is done right with organizational steps it'll make the process less chaotic. First things first, a guest list to work from when sending out the invitations to the party. This guest list maybe small or large, but is an important step. When the number of guests is set, this will help determine the rest of the party needs.
A patriotic theme party needs patriotic supplies. The colors for the party supplies should focus on red, white and blue. First red table cloths to place on the table to start with, then use white for the utensils for the party. The plates in blue will be prefect to go with the theme, but so would either of the other two colors. Mixing and matching the colors of the napkins might be fun, or get napkins with the American flag already on them. Well that covers the tables, but there is much more that could be done with these colors. For example having streamers hung around the location in the three various colors would help bring a more festive spirit to the event.
Roll Up The next step to our patriotic theme party is to determine what the all-American feast will consist of. Having sent invitations to have guest over, there should be food for them to eat. A menu for this party could include, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and steaks making up the main part of the meal. Side dishes for the party might include such things as; green bean casserole, corn on the cob, potato salad and potato chips. Sometimes condiments are just as important as the main dishes, so try to match up the right toppings for the meal. For grilling purposes make sure the grill is ready to go, either there is gas or pick up charcoal for the grill. This all makes for mouth watering food that provides choices to the guest. Two additional items on this party of the party supplies list; ice cream and apple or cheery pie to have later on.
The morning of the party will be the most hectic part as pieces of the party start to come together, but with having spent some time planning and doing prep work in the days leading. When the party comes together, remember to enjoy the day.
